Katia Krupennikova
Katia Krupennikova (b. 1982, Moscow, Russia) is a curator, educator and researcher based in Amsterdam.
She holds a BA from History of Art from Russian State University of Humanities (2011) and BA and MA in Applied Information Technology and Economy from National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) (2004). She was a participant of De Appel Curatorial Programme (2011—2012) and a fellow at BAK—basis for actuele kunst, Utrecht (2019—2020). Currently she is enrolled in MA Art and Society, Utrecht University (2024—2025).
Krupennikova has been working as a lecturer for Experimental Curatorial Studies at MA Fine Art, HKU, University of the Arts (Utrecht, the Netherlands, 2018—current); she was made a tenure in 2022. Besides teaching she works as a fundraiser at Landfall Foundation and Kunstwerk Kolderveen (Kolderveen, The Netherlands, 2024—current). Earlier she worked as Curator at Large at V-A-C Foundation/GES-2 (Moscow, Russia, 2019—24th of February, 2022) and as a curator at Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art (Warsaw, Poland, 2013–2014).
Her most recent independently curated and co-curated exhibitions and projects include Beyond a Certain Point There is No Return at Tale of a Tub (Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 2023) and It’s OK...commoning uncertainties, Oude Kerk (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 2022–2023). Earlier she curated the 11th edition of Survival Kit Festival Being Safe Is Scary, Latvian Center for Contemporary Art (Riga, Latvia, 2020) and was a member of the core group of curators of the Bergen Assembly, Actually, The Dead Are Not Dead (Bergen, Norway, 2017—2019).
She is a founding member of Oo(y)ster mums collective, a member of the editorial board at Errant Journal. As a juror, she took part in Apexart (2024—2025) and Rietvield Review (2022).
