Özgür Atlagan

Özgür Atlagan works with performance, installation, text, image, and their scenographic intersections to explore notions of captivity, servitude and state violence. He is a member of artist collectives KABA HAT, BAÇOY KOOP (Printing, Duplication, Distribution Cooperative), and Sparkling Tap Water.

Atlagan is an alum of Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam (2019-21). He was a resident at EKWC European Ceramic Work Centre in Oisterwijk (2023) and at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2024). He presented works individually and as part of collectives at Buro Stedelijk, de Appel, Framer Framed in Amsterdam; Leeum Museum, Seoul; documenta fifteen, Kassel; İstanbul Biennial; Asian Art Museum, San Francisco; nGbK, Berlin; Tensta Konsthall, Stockholm; SALT Galata, İstanbul; Torun, Ankara; and Protocinema, İstanbul. Since 2019 he lives and works in Amsterdam.
