Clementine Edwards

Clementine Edwards is a Rotterdam-based artist working across sculpture, performance, writing, video and jewellery. Clementine’s practice is guided by material kinship, which thinks material beyond extraction and kinship beyond the nuclear family. It’s the subject of The Material Kinship Reader, which is both artist book and polyphonic reader, edited with Kris Dittel.

Craft, detail, intimacy and the domestic are integral in Clementine’s work, as is the ethos of ‘gathering through encounter’ – a non-extractive approach to working with materials, affects, experiences and broader systems and structures of power that they encounter in their day-to-day. Recent group exhibitions include Unruly Kinships at Temporary Gallery, Köln and Material Memory at Tent Rotterdam.
