Subtitled, 1' (2017)

In her work, Aisi Rosa Schuur opens up a window to the past. She does this by focussing on found footage such as family albums and slides, which she hunts for at flea markets. Also included within this frame to the past is her own photography and family archive, in which she finds a similarity of what all these images and so the people that take notice of these moments have in common: our collective memory. She believes that personal memory can be evoked by looking through pictures, even if these pictures show us people that are unfamiliar to us.
